Both the galleries and the many museums are really worth visiting. The Ootmarsum Open Air Museum, for instances, will give you an impression of Twente country life as it was lived by Lords and Farmers through the centuries. In the centre there is the grand Drostenhuis, an 18th century mansion, decorated and furnished in an authentic style. The Education Museum Educatorium Ootmarsum is located in a 17th century historic timber framed building. It contains a unique collection of school posters by Jetses, Isings, Koekkoek and Van Lummel and other exhibits related to the education of our parents and their ancestors. Lots of information about ‘time’ can be found in the Museum and Science centre for Time Chronomium, with clocks, sundials, tower clocks and other ‘time devices’. Ootmarsum painter Ton Schulten has his own museum where you can become acquinted with his works.
